Take note, however, that this guide is not applicable for driver’s licenses that have expired for more than 10 years. This is because the LTO considers such licenses no longer qualified. Instead, they are required to start all over again with a student permit.

We also recommend doing this in an LTO renewal center, which only accommodates this kind of process, so that you can experience a shorter line and faster transaction.

You can accomplish this at home by accessing the LTO online portal. Just pass the exam, print the result, and bring it with you to your preferred LTO office.

Alternatively, you can finish the CDE exam at any LTO office as they have a dedicated computer for this. Just expect to line up and wait for your turn.

Step 3: Proceed to the medical examination

Here, your physical details will be noted, such as your weight, height, and eye vision. The medical officer will encode all these details in your driver’s medical evaluation form.

Step 4: Submit the results, including the other requirements, back to window 1 (Approving/Cashier)

Now that you have accomplished the driver’s medical evaluation form, you can submit it together with your old driver’s license and CDE certificate in window 1.

Step 5: Pay the corresponding fees

After submitting all the necessary requirements, you will be asked to pay the license fee which is Php 589 pesos for both pro and non-pro license renewal. Expect additional fees if you are late and outside the grace period given by the LTO.

Step 6: Proceed to window 3 (Photo/Signature) for biometrics and a photo

You will be called to proceed to window 3 where your fingerprints will be registered and your photo taken. You will also be asked whether you want to update your signature or not. After this, you will be asked to wait in the waiting area.

Step 7: Wait for window 4 (Releasing) to call your name and release your renewed driver’s license

Once your license has been printed and ready for release, you will be called to window 4 to sign the driver’s license release log. If you have no recorded violation from the start, then you will get a license with 10-year validity.
