The Kompanio 1300T is a MediaTek Processor for Tablets

While we know about the Helio and Dimensity lines, MediaTek does have its own line of chips for tablets and laptops with the Kompanio series. The 7nm-based Kompanio 1200 was the first tablet-only chip offering from MediaTek, and it is only with the newly-announced Kompanio 1300T that people are aware of this chip line.

The Kompanio 1300T is closely related to the Dimensity 1200, as it is manufactured using a 6nm process and utilizes Cortex-A78 and Cortex-A55 cores. It also has a Mali-G77 MC9 GPU, which is an upgrade over the Mali-G57 MC5 used on the Kompanio 1200. As a 5G-ready chip, the Kompanio 1300T supports sub-6Ghz bands, dual 5G SIM, and 2-channel carrier aggregation.

Being a chip dedicated to tablets and laptops, the Kompanio 1300T can support two displays at 1080p and a single display at 1440p with 120hz dynamic refresh rate and HDR10+ video playback.

The Kompanio 1300T has an APU that handles feature like voice commands and AI Picture quality, along with native support for 108-megapixel cameras, up to 4K60 video recording, and Staggered HDR for more details in videos.

MediaTek said that the first tablets using the Kompanio 1300T will be unveiled this third quarter. The company did not specify which brands are involved, but there have been rumors that the HONOR V7 Pro tablet will use the said processor.
