Tired of Netflix? Here are Some Good Alternatives

Sick of using Netflix because of some of the upcoming changes to its current Plan offerings? Don’t worry, we got you! Here are some alternatives to Netflix that may cater to your binging needs. Do note that our picks have subscription fees–but rest assured that all our picks do not promote piracy.

Disney+

Are you a fan of Lucasfilm and/or Disney films? Well, this platform is for you. They offer a wide variety of shows from the aforementioned companies. From Marvel movies to your favorite animes you won’t have a problem looking for something to binge on. Aside from Disney and Marvel content, Disney+ is your go-to platform if you are into WWE content as well.

HBO Go

Does House of the Dragon ring a bell? This platform offers everything on HBO along with even more must-see TV shows, documentaries, gastronomy, homes, WB movies (Warner Bros.), DC Universe, and exclusive Max Originals.

HBO Go’s monthly plan is priced at Php 199, though the Annual Plan is priced at Php 1190–which gives great value with a monthly price of around Php 99.

Amazon Prime Video

Amazon Prime Video, like Netflix, occasionally creates original works of fiction. As a result, it has produced content including Transparent, Mozart in the Jungle, and The American Gods. However, it also features licensed content from other streaming services, such as Hulu’s The Handmaid’s Tale and HBO’s Game of Thrones.

Prime Video has an official monthly price of Php 259, but they are still sticking to their Php 149 promo monthly price as of writing this list.

Crunchyroll

Don’t wanna miss your favorite anime? Crunchyroll is a streaming service catering to anime fans, offering Japanese animation and anime-inspired live-action shows, including simulcasts, despite the abundance of illegal anime streaming platforms online.

For your anime fix, Crunchyroll is very affordable with a starting monthly price of Php 79. Opt for the Php 99 monthly subscription, and you get added perks like access to games, offline downloads, and streaming on up to 4 devices. You can go for the Php 999 annual plan, which is a good 16% savings if you love watching the latest anime.

Viu

If you love watching KDramas or Asian dramas in general, Viu is a solid choice. It can match Netflix in terms of exclusive KDrama content, and it has the advantage of being able to use the platform for free if you’re fine with ads.

If you want to do away with ads, its monthly subscription price is Php 149–though you can get that lower if you for for the 3-month plan or if you have a PLDT Home internet plan.

Vivamax

Vivamax, a major Philippine streaming service, offers a diverse range of Filipino films, shows, original content, and a Google TV and Android TV app. Don’t get us started arguing that Viva Max is all about its risque content–there’s more to the platform like restored classic movies and exclusive access to upcoming wholesome films.

Vivamax has a monthly subscription price of Php 169, though they have a more expensive Php 499 Plan that bundles two separate accounts.

That rounds up our picks for alternatives to Netflix that show original content–which is one of the reasons we have a hard time recommending Loklok to our audience.
