While the 2024 iPad Air feels more like an iterative update save for the addition of a 13-inch model, the 2024 iPad gets a better makeover, with a body that’s thinner than its predecessor at 5.1mm (13-inch) and 5.3mm (11-inch). It’s the thinnest Apple product to date, and this results in getting a new Magic Keyboard with a function row and an Apple Pencil Pro with added functionalities with its barrel.
Beyond the insanely thin body, the 2024 iPad Pro finally shifts to OLED displays, and Apple did things differently by combining two OLED panels with its “Tandem OLED” approach. Because of these changes, Apple calls the display of the 2024 iPad Pro “Ultra Retina XDR”. Aside from the unique display, the 2024 iPad Pro also has an optional Nano-Texture Glass that gives a matte finish–similar to Huawei’s PaperMatte displays.
Another interesting twist with the 2024 iPad Air is Apple’s decision to skip the M3 and go straight with the M4. The new chip is made with a second-generation 3nm process and has a 10-core CPU and 10-core GPU. You also get the same support for Thunderbolt 4 as well, along with as much as 2TB in storage.
The 2024 iPad Pro starts at Php 72,990 for the 11-inch model and Php 94,990 for the 13-inch model. Expect both tablets to be available at local retailers like Beyond the Box and Power Mac Center soon.
