It’s been a while since we heard about Iconia, the line that covers ACER’s tablets. While Iconia tablets are still being sold in the US, it is only at IFA 2024 where ACER has made a tablet announcement as part of its showcase with the Iconia X12.
The main draw of the Iconia X12 is its 12.6-inch AMOLED display that has a 2.5k resolution. The refresh rate may be a conventional 60hz, but it is hard to find a tablet that uses an AMOLED panel rather than IPS. It comes with a quad-speaker system, making it great for entertainment. You get up to 256GB storage, with a MicroSD card expansion for up to 1TB.
Powering the Iconia X12 is a Helio G99 processor that’s paired with 8GB LPDDR4X RAM, which is what we expect on a midrange tablet. The battery is sizeable at 10000mAh, and it supports fast charging–no mention of wattage, but we presume it should do at least 18w.
The rest of the features include Android 14 out of the box, a 6.7mm thick unibody chassis, 13-megapixel rear camera, and 8-megapixel front camera.
ACER is asking $349(~Php 20k) for the Iconia X12, which may be pricey for the internals it packs–but is justified for its use of an AMOLED display, You’ll have to wait though, as it will be available starting January 2025 in America, Europe, and China.
