Affordable Flagship? Huawei Mate 50E Rocks Snapdragon 778G, Keeps Top-End Cameras

While Huawei announced three new Mate 50 models in China, there’s actually a fourth model that’s more affordable with the Mate 50E. The most affordable variant looks similar to the vanilla Mate 50, but settles for a Snapdragon 778G processor and omits wireless charging on its 4460mAh battery. You also lose the telephoto camera of the vanilla model, but thankfully you still retain the 50-megapixel main camera with a variable aperture and 13-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera.

Like the vanilla model, the Mate 50E has a 6.7-inch 90hz OLED display with a punch-hole for the 13-megapixel selfie snapper. Despite the downgrades and the absence of 5G, the Mate 50E appears to be a great offering as a budget flagship phone.
