Time flies, and the Apple Watch is now on its 10th iteration with the Series 10, highlighting a revamped design that includes a bigger and brighter OLED display and a thinner profile at 9.7mm thick. The new polished aluminum body makes the Watch Series 10 10% thinner and lighter than their predecessor. The bigger display matters, as it allows the Watch Series 10 to display an extra line of text.
Powering the Watch Series 10 is a new S10 chip with a 4-core neural engine, and its wireless charging coil is bigger to allow faster charging speeds. Apple claims that you can charge the Watch series 10 to 80% in just 30 minutes, with battery life estimated to be at around 18 hours.
Outside of the revamped design, the main highlight of the Watch Series 10 is its ability to detect sleep apnea–pending FDA approval–by using the smartwatch’s accelerometer to monitor a user’s breathing while sleeping. Monitoring sleep apnea is crucial as it is a condition that causes people to suddenly stop breathing while sleeping. With the Watch Series 10’s feature, users will be alerted and can provide a detailed report to their doctor to receive an official diagnosis.
The Watch Series 10 starts at Php 26,490 for the GPS-only version, and Php 32,490 with cellular capabilities. There will be a Grade 5 Titanium version that’s around 20% lighter than the Series 9.
