Apple Watch Series 9 comes with Better Siri Integration

Just to go along with the much-awaited iPhone 15 series, Apple also announced the Watch Series 9 at its Wonderlust Event. The Apple Watch Series 9 now comes with a new S9 processor that has 5.6 billion transistors, a 30% faster GPU and a 4-core Neural Engine for AI tasks.

While the Watch Series 9 looks similar to last year’s Watch 8 series, the Watch Series 9 has better Siri integration, where you can utilize Apple’s smart voice assistant to ask about your health data. Aside from the new processor powering it, you get a second-generation UWB chip that allows you to find your iPhone using the Watch Series 9.

The Watch Series 9 has a rated “all-day” battery life of 18 hours, and Apple claims that the display can go as bright as 2000nits and as low as 1nit at night. Aside from new color options for the Aluminum models, the Watch Series 9 adds a new gesture called double tap, where tapping your fingers together will trigger certain commands like stopping your alarm or answering calls.

For strap options, Apple is swapping leather for its new textile called FineWoven, which has the same texture and feel as leather but is more carbon neutral. The same goes for the Nike sports bands, which are made with recycled materials.

The Watch Ultra makes the jump to Series 2, where it uses the same S9 processor found on the Watch Series 9, while having a significantly brighter display that maxes out at 3000nits. Overall, it is an iterative update to last year’s Watch Ultra Series 1.

The Watch Series 9 starts at Php 26,490 for the 41mm GPS-only model and Php 32,490 for for the 41mm GPS+Cellular model, while the Watch Ultra Series 2 is priced at Php 54,990.
