After they were announced last May, ASUS announces the official price of the ROG Zephyrus S17 and M16 in the Philippines. Both are top-end gaming laptops that go for a more subtle aesthetic that can blend well in the office setting.
The bigger Zephyrus S17 stands out for its unique keyboard design. While it does not utilize ASUS’ ErgoLift hinge, the Zephyrus S17’s optical-mechanical keyboard rises by 5 degrees for a better typing angle and for improving airflow by as much as 25%. Its huge 17-inch display can be configured two ways: either a gaming-focused 165hz WQHD panel with G-SYNC or a content creator-focused 120hz 4K display with 100% DCI-P3 gamut.
The Zephyrus M16, on the other hand, fits a 16-inch display on a chassis that is usually reserved for 15-inch laptops thanks to ultra-thin 4.6mm bezels across all four sides. Despite the slim bezels, ASUS managed to tuck in a webcam in the top bezel. The 16-inch display is no slouch, as it has a 16:10 aspect ratio, WQHD resolution, 165hz refresh rate, 3ms response time, and covers 100% of the DCI-P3 gamut. As a slim gaming laptop, the Zephyrus M16 makes use of ASUS’ ErgoLift hinge for better airflow.
Both the Zephyrus S17 and M16 come with a six-speaker system that supports Dolby Atmos, along with the latest Tiger Lake processors (up to a Core i9-11900H) and up to 48GB DDR4 RAM. For the GPU, the Zephyrus M16 can be configured with up to an RTX 3070, while the S17 can have up to an RTX 3080 GPU. While the Zephyrus M16 can be configured with up to 2TB PCIe 4.0 NVMe SSD, the Zephyrus S17 steps it up by having three PCIe 4.0 NVMe slots with a HyperDrive Ultimate RAID array for insane transfer speeds of up to 10.5GB/s
Both gaming laptops come with dual Arc Flow fans, Liquid Metal thermal paste compound, and a 90wHr battery that supports 100w USB-C charging on top of the usual 230w charging brick.
