ASUS Unveils ROG Strix XG259QN and Swift PG38UQ

Aside from the insanely wide ROG Swift OLED PG49WCD, ASUS has two other cool gaming monitors unveiled at COMPUTEX 2023 with the Swift PG38UQ and Strix XG259QN.

The ROG Swift PG38UQ comes with a 38-inch IPS display with a swift 1ms response time, 4K resolution, and 144hz peak refresh rate. It supports both FreeSync Premium Pro and GSync, which give you a great gaming experience regardless if you are using an AMD or NVIDIA card.

The Swift PG38UQ’s port selection includes a DisplayPort 1.4 connection that makes 4K gaming possible at 144hz and HDMI 2.1 for 4K gaming at 120hz. Other features include 10-bit color, DisplayHDR 600 certification, 600nits peak brightness, and 98% DCI-P3 gamut coverage. The Swift PG38UQ is slated to be available by Q3 of 2023.

The smaller ROG Strix XG259QN features a 24.5-inch IPS panel that has a peak refresh rate of 380hz in overclock mode and 360hz by default, making it one of the fastest monitors in the market once it becomes available by Q4 of 2023. This one supports Adaptive Sync, FreeSync Premium, and “ELMB-sync”, which ASUS describes as a “strobing blur reduction backlight reduction mode” that works together with a variable refresh rate.

Other features of the Strix XG259QN include a 1ms response time, DisplayHDR 400, DisplayPort 1.4, and HDMI 2.0. It also has two USB-A 3.2 ports and a headphone jack as well for connecting peripherals.
