This corroborates claims of ASUS PH of an earlier release cycle
Delays for the ZenFone 4 didn’t do anything good for ASUS’ overall momentum for their phone lineup. ASUS has apparently learned their lesson, and after country manager George Su said that the ZenFone 5 series would be released earlier than usual a device under the new smartphone family has just been certified in Russia.
The original filing looks to be the ASUS ZenFone 5 Lite, which allegedly has the model number of ZC600KL. Since model numbers for ASUS phones have a certain structure to them, this means that the phone will have a Qualcomm processor (KL) and will have at least a 6-inch display (60).Â
It’s not clear yet if the phone will have a 18:9 aspect ratio, but considering this is now one of the standard features for mid-range phones today, ASUS would be making a huge mistake not to include it. It’s looking more and more likely that ASUS will be making an appearance at Mobile World Congress this year – we’ll just have to see in the coming days.
