If people do not care about camera performance in an under-Php 30k phone, they will most likely care more about what are the best gaming phones sold in the Philippines for 2022 for the said price tag. In this scenario, people would look for the best processor that’s inside the phone–after all, determining the most powerful phone is based on raw performance and how it fares against today’s demanding titles.
Based on the phones we have reviewed–and on the benchmark numbers we got from them–we round up five of the best gaming phones in the Philippines this 2022 at the under Php 30k segment:
Best Gaming Phones in the Philippines 2022 (Under 30k)
- POCO F4 GT
- realme GT Neo3
- POCO F4
- OPPO Reno8
- HONOR 70
POCO F4 GT (Snapdragon 8 Gen 1)
The GT version of the POCO F4 is a showstopper, as it remains to be the ONLY Snapdragon 8 Gen 1-powered phone that’s priced at under Php 30k. The Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 is a bonafide 2022 flagship chip, and while there are qualms about the processor running hot when playing graphically demanding games, the POCO F4 GT’s thermal management does quite a good job in preventing the phone to be toasty while enjoying your favorite titles.
The fact that the POCO F4 GT has a 2022 flagship beating inside makes it the unquestionably most powerful phone at the under-Php 30k segment.
At Php 27,990 for the 12GB/256GB variant (Php 25,290 for the 8GB/128GB variant), you can’t go wrong with the POCO F4 GT if you simply prioritize performance over everything else.
realme GT Neo3 (Dimensity 8100)
There are only two phones in the Philippines that use the Dimensity 8100, and it offers incredible power even at the under Php 30k segment in the case of the GT Neo3. We’ve written about how insane is the Dimensity 8100, and what makes this mid-range processor crazy is that it does compete well against Snapdragon 8-series processors.
Based on our synthetic benchmark tests, the Dimensity 8100 used on the GT Neo3 actually outperformed any non-gaming phone with a Snapdragon 870 or 888 by a considerable margin–and to think that we’re just talking about a mid-range processor here.
For just Php 25,999 for the 8GB/256GB, you can’t go wrong with the realme GT Neo3 if all you care is raw performance.
POCO F4 (Snapdragon 870)
While the POCO F4 may be more of an interactive upgrade over the F3, there’s no question that the Snapdragon 870 is one powerful processor. It may be over a year old, but being a Snapdragon 8-series processor, you are getting true flagship performance, where running games at 60FPS at their highest graphics settings is a walk in the park.
With demanding games like Genshin Impact, we managed to get an average FPS of 50, which makes the POCO F4 very usable for competitive gaming.
With the 8GB/256GB variant priced at Php 20,290 (and the 6GB/128GB variant priced even lower at Php 18,290), you are getting great price-to-performance with the POCO F4.
OPPO Reno8 (Dimensity 1300)
Despite being “just” a tweaked Dimensity 1200, the Dimensity 1300 that’s found on the Reno8 is significantly more powerful than the Dimensity 900 used on its past two models. Being a flagship-grade processor, the Dimensity 1200 beats Qualcomm’s upper mid-range processors like the Snapdragon 778G+ especially when it comes to GPU performance.
Since the Dimensity 1300 is similar to the 1200, gaming performance on the Reno8 is flawless–it’s possible to max out Genshin Impact‘s
At Php 27,999 for the 8GB/256GB model, the Reno8 is the best mid-range OPPO phone to date–and the most competitive one at that.
HONOR 70 (Snapdragon 778G+)
While MediaTek is making waves with the incredible performance its Dimensity 8100 chip has to offer, team Qualcomm need not worry about the great performance the Snapdragon 778G+ can offer in phones like the HONOR 70.
The HONOR 70’s great CPU performance is evident with gaming, as it goes head-to-head with Snapdragon 888 and Dimensity 8100-powered phones in Genshin Impact, and offers a decent average FPS of 44 with Tower of Fantasy–both set at their highest possible 60FPS graphic settings.
With a price of Php 26,990 for the lone 8GB/256GB variant, you can’t go wrong with the HONOR 70 if performance is what you really care about–and has a nice bonus too of having a great camera performance.
That rounds up our picks for the best gaming phones for under Php 30k in the Philippines this 2022. Which one will you most likely get?
