iPhones have consistency been the top-selling phones globally for several years. That stays the same for 2024, as Counterpoint revealed in its Q3 report that the iPhone 15 series–sans the iPhone 15 Plus–take over the top 3 spots.
The base iPhone 15 is the best-seller, and Counterpoint notes that the gap between the base and Pro models are getting smaller. In fact, almost half of the total iPhone sales in Q3 of 2024 were contributed by the iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max.
Looking at Android phones on the other hand, Samsung remains dominant in the top 10 list with its entry-level Galaxy models consisting of the Galaxy A05, 4G and 5G versions of the Galaxy A15, and the Galaxy A35. What’s intriguing, however, is that the Galaxy A55 is not in the top 10.
Instead, you have the Galaxy S24 rounding up the list, marking the first time a Galaxy S series phone is included in Counterpoint’s top 10 for the third quarter. This also meant that the Galaxy S24 has been in Counterpoint’s top 10 for three consecutive quarters.
