After Doogee officially marked its comeback in the Philippines last September, many were wondering when it will bring some of its phones to the country. For the past few months, Doogee has been focused with tablets–and that might change soon as it teased the arrival of the SMini rugged phone to the Philippines soon.

It’s very rare to see a compact Android phone in the Philippines, let alone a rugged phone. Doogee might be able to cater a new market with the SMini. Having roughly the size of an iPhone 13 Mini, the SMini features a 4.5-inch IPS display with an unconventional 480×1170 resolution. Despite its size, it has a 7-segment secondary display at the back that’s used for displaying information like temperature and humidity, time and date, and battery level and charging status.

This small phone has a 3000mAh battery inside that supports 18w charging, and its rugged nature gives it an IP69K rating–aside from being water and dust resistant, it also can deal with high-pressure water jets as well.

As fore its internals, the SMini runs a Helio G99 processor that’s paired with 8GB RAM and 256GB internal storage, and its camera setup consists of a 50-megapixel main camera, 2-megapixel depth sensor, and 8-megapixel selfie camera. Other features the Smini has include a headphone jack, side-mounted fingerprint scanner, and a customizable button.

Doogee has yet to reveal the official price of the SMini in the Philippines, but an AliExpress listing puts it at around Php 9k.
