Aside from the Galaxy A56 and A36, Samsung also has the Galaxy A26 available in the Philippines with a starting price of Php 15,990 for the 6GB/128GB variant. Like its siblings, you get a revamped design that includes Gorilla Glass protection on the front and back, an IP67 rating, and a 5000mAh battery.
As a lower-end variant, the Galaxy S26 has support for 25w charging and features a 6.7-inch 120hz Super AMOLED display with a notch to house the 13-megapixel selfie camera. The rear camera setup consists of a 50-megapixel main shooter with OIS, 8-megapixel ultrawide, and 2-megapixel depth sensor.
The main camera can shoot 4K video thanks to the use of an Exynos 1380 processor. The chip rings a bell, as it was used on the Galaxy A54. It may be a 2-year old chip, but our experience with the Exynos 1380 is decent and is roughly at par with the Snapdragon 7s Gen 2.
Being a Samsung phone, the A26’s main selling point is software support, with a commitment of 6 Android updates and 6 years of security updates. That’s the best you can get for a midrange device, and that update commitment can match what’s offered on several Android flagships.
Aside from the 6Gb/128Gb variant, there’s also a 8GB/256GB variant that’s priced at Php 17,990. Those who will purchase until June 30 will get a travel adapter as part of the bundle.
