The Galaxy Z Fold6 Gets a Subtle Upgrade

While the Galaxy Z Fold6 is just 3 months old at this point, this did not stop Samsung from unveiling a Special Edition version that has a few differences from the one that originally launched back in July.

It may look similar to the Galaxy Z Fold6 we know, but the Special Edition is thinner at 10.6mm folded and 4.9mm folded. It may not be as thin as the thinnest foldable to date, but it’s nice to see Samsung step up its game in making its flagship foldable thinner.

Despite being thinner, you get a slightly bigger 8-inch inner display and 6.5-inch outer display, along with an Armor Aluminum frame and Gorilla Glass Victus 2 protection for both the front and back panels. There’s also a slight tweak with the main camera, as the Special Edition uses a 200-megapixel sensor with OIS. We presume this might be the same one used on the Galaxy S24 Ultra, as it can shoot 8K video at 30FPS. The rest of the cameras (save for the under-display one in the inner display) can shoot 4K video at 60FPS.

Save for those differences, everything else is the same. So you’re still getting a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor, a 4400mAh battery with support for 25w wired and 15w wireless charging, and OneUI 6.1 out of the box with Galaxy AI.

The Galaxy Z Fold6 Special Edition is priced at KRW 2,789,600 (~Php 117k) for the 16GB/512GB variant, and it seems to be exclusive to Korea for now.
