After promising 7 years of Android updates to the Magic7 Pro, HONOR makes a bold promise for the 400 series with 6 years of Android updates. With the 400 series being midrange phones, that makes them have the longest software update commitment–rivaling what Samsung offers to its Galaxy A series.
As part of its bold promise, HONOR said that the 400 series–including the 400 Lite, will be updated to Android 16 by the end of 2025. With its promise, that means that the 400 Lite, 400, and 400 Pro will get software updates until 2031. Aside from the 400 series, the Magic V3 and Magic7 Pro are set to get Android 16 by the end of 2025. In fact, Honor has already released Android 16 Beta 3 to its Magic7 series.
HONOR added that one of the highlights of the 400 series is Google’s AI-powered image to video generation that uses Google’s Veo 2art video generation model  to convert real-life photos and AI-generated artwork into a 5-second short video. That makes it the first time a phone brand is offering such a feature without any third-party applications. It remains to be seen, however, how long HONOR will make this feature free to the 400 series. We should know more details once HONOR unveils the 400 series on May 22.
