While the HONOR 70 went official in the Philippines a few weeks ago, the brand is set to announce the 80 series in China on November 23 together with the Magic Vs foldable. While the Magic Vs is expected to be a mild upgrade, the key upgrade being a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor, the HONOR 80 series will have a different look.
Based on the teaser images, the HONOR 80 will have a redesigned camera module that has accents depicting the number 8, along with what appears to be a textured glass back panel.
The interesting part of the HONOR 80 Pro+ is the curved AMOLED display, where you get two front-facing cameras positioned in the center that’s similar to what Xiaomi did with the CIVI 2. We’re not sure if HONOR is going to do a Dynamic Island-like notification system with the 80 series.
From what we know so far, there will be a vanilla model, a Pro model, and a Pro+ model. The regular HONOR 80 will have a Dimensity 1080 processor and a 64-megapixel main camera, while the Pro model will use a Snapdragon 778G processor that’s paired with a 108-megapixel main camera.
The HONOR 80 Pro+ will be interesting, as it will have a 160-megapixel main camera (not a 200-megapixel one like what Motorola, Xiaomi, and Infinix have), and two 50-megapixel IMX890 sensors for the front cameras. The Pro+’s display allegedly has a 1.5K resolution, and it will still charge with 100w.
