Aside from announcing its 50 series with Google Services, HONOR also announced a new set of TWS earbuds with the Earbuds 2 SE. While they look similar to the Choice TWS Earbuds they announced last year, the Earbuds 2 SE gets an aesthetic upgrade and some new features.
This time around, you have visible HONOR branding on the case, and the earbuds have a longer stem. To an extent, they do resemble the Huawei FreeBuds 4i. However, since they are independent from Huawei, there might be differences in terms of software with the Earbuds 2 SE–though HONOR has yet to disclose that.
Like their Huawei sibling, the Earbuds 2 SE comes with ANC thanks to the presence of two microphones per earbud. Aside from ANC, the two microphones can be used for ambient mode so that you can still have a conversation without taking out the buds from your ear.
They also come with 10mm polymer composite drivers, and HONOR claims that the 55mAh battery on each earbud can last for up to 10 hours on a single charge (and up to 7.5 hours with ANC on). The included case has a 410mAh battery inside and gives the Earbuds 2 SE a total of up to 32 hours of use. Charging the Earbuds 2 SE is done via USB-C.
Other features include Bluetooth 5.2, touch controls, smart wear detection, and an IPX4 rating. In addition, there’s a low latency mode–something that the FreeBuds 4i does not have–but only works with supported HONOR phones like the recently-launched HONOR 50 series.
HONOR Earbuds 2 SE Price
The Earbuds 2 SE are priced at CNY 469(~Php 4.3k) and are now on sale in China. Like with the HONOR 50 series, expect these to be made available globally soon.
