HONOR caught our attention with the Power, as it is a midrange phone that packs a huge 8000mAh battery inside a frame that’s less than 8mm. But what if you want a flagship gaming phone with a huge battery? HONOR has an answer to that, at least in China, with the GT Pro.
To make it a proper flagship, it uses an overclocked version of the Snapdragon 8 Elite (which we speculate is the same one used on Samsung’s Galaxy S25 series) that can be configured with up to 16GB LPDDR5X RAM and up to 1TB UFS 4.1 storage. It also impresses with its huge, class-leading 7200mAh battery that supports 90W charging.
While the GT Pro is positioned more for gaming, HONOR equipped it with a decent camera setup that consists of an IMX906 sensor for the main camera, an IMX856 sensor for the 3x telephoto camera, and an ultrawide camera. You get a gaming-grade LTPO OLED display with a 144Hz variable refresh rate, 6000nits peak brightness, and an ultrasonic fingerprint scanner. Being an HONOR device, it also touts durability claims with its own Giant Rhino Glass and an IP68 rating.
On paper, the GT Pro appears to be the dream phone for everyone, especially with its starting price of CNY 3699 for the 12GB/256GB variant, which translates to around Php 30k when converted. If you want the fully decked out 16GB/1TB version, it will cost you CNY 4799 or around Php 40k–which is around the same price as the POCO F7 Ultra, but with more storage.
As much as we dream HONOR brings this phone to the Philippines (or at least globally), it seems that the GT Pro will remain elusive to China. Let’s hope that HONOR changes their mind, as we think the GT Pro will sell like hotcakes in the Philippines if it were made official.
