HONOR Pad V8 Announced with “New” Dimensity 8020

Several months after HONOR announced the Pad V8 Pro, the brand unveiled a toned-down, vanilla version in China that has a decent set of specs an a “new” processor in the form of the Dimensity 8020.

The naming scheme of the Dimensity 8020 does give us a hint that it is a rebranded version of an old MediaTek processor–something that the chipmaker is practicing lately. In this case, the Dimensity 8020 is the new name of the Dimensity 1100–a 6nm processor that MediaTek unveiled back in 2021. It’s the same chip that powered the POCO X3 GT, and we know that the Dimensity 1100 (or its new name, the Dimensity 8020) is a very capable mid-range processor even if it is two years old.

Moving to the tablet itself, the HONOR Pad V8 has an 11-inch LCD display with a 120hz refresh rate and a 2.5k resolution, while the rear camera setup consists of a 13-megapixel main camera and a depth sensor. You get a 5-megapixel front camera for video calls, along with quad speakers. Keeping the lights on is a 7250mAh battery that supports 22.5w charging.

The HONOR Pad V8 is priced at CNY 1799(~Php 14.5k) for the 8GB/128GB model and CNY 1899(~Php 15.3k) for the 8GB/256GB model. HONOR only has the Pad 8 in the Philippines, and it remains to be seen if the brand will expand its tablet offerings in the Philippines.
