After it was made official in China last July, HONOR revealed that it will make the Magic V2 official for global markets at its IFA 2023 keynote happening on September 1 in Berlin.

Entitled “Unfold Tomorrow”, the IFA keynote is expected to make the Magic V2 official for European and Asian countries, which might include the Philippines as one of the markets.

Judging by the teaser poster, there’s a possibility that HONOR will announce not just one but two foldable phones during its IFA 2023 keynote. GSMArena reports that the second foldable that HONOR might announce might be a flip phone–though we don’t expect it to be made available commercially upon the announcement.

The global unveiling of the Magic V2 will be significant to HONOR especially with the advancements they have made in designing the hinge. For one, the Magic V2 is the slimmest foldable at 9.9mm when folded and a mere 4.7mm when unfolded. The secret to this breakthrough innovation is the use of a gearless unibody hinge mechanism, where HONOR used a 3D-printed titanium alloy cover and custom short screws for the hinge components, along with coating the whole mechanism with a P2i coating for added water resistance.
