We all know that people would rave about the iPhone for having one of the best cameras on a phone. But what if we told you that the iPhone 16 Pro Max is also king when it comes to selfies? That may sound strange, but DxOMark thinks that the iPhone 16 Pro Max is the selfie king.
With an overall score of 151 and only minimal hardware and software changes from the iPhone 15 Pro Max, the iPhone 16 Pro Max is the top phone for selfies, with only the Magic6 Pro matching it.
If you’re curious about what makes the iPhone 16 Pro Max the best phone for selfies, DxOMark explains that it has great autofocus and great depth of field, two things that are hard to find in Android phones–even with some flagship models. Exposure is a challenge with selfies, especially in backlit situations, but DxOMark thinks that the iPhone 16 Pro Max is an ace in that department, as it captures a wide dynamic range, great color accuracy, and well-preserved details.
Those findings also translate to video as well, with DxOMark stating that stabilization is relatively good for taking selfie videos. Compared to its predecessor, the improvements are seen in how the iPhone 16 Pro Max handles texture and noise. The A18 Pro does help with image processing, as DxOMark noticed that selfies taken using the iPhone 16 Pro Max have less noise compared to its predecessor.
With the iPhone 16 Pro Max being the selfie king, maybe spending a wad of cash to get one might not be that bad at all–especially if you are heavy into content creation and you’re the type to use the iPhone 16 Pro Max’s selfie camera for live streams.
