vivo sub-brand iQOO announces a new entry-level 5G phone with the U5. Succeeding last year’s U3, the entry-level phone follows the design language of newer vivo phones and boasts a number of features that give it great value for money.

To start things off, the U5 is powered by a Snapdragon 695 processor with 128GB internal storage and up to 8GB RAM. The display is a 6.58-inch IPS panel with a 120hz refresh rate, notch for the 8-megapixel selfie snapper, and Full HD+ resolution. To keep it stable during long gaming sessions, the U5 comes with a five-layer liquid cooling system. Keeping the lights on is a 5000mAh battery with 18w wired charging.
Other features of the U5 include a dual rear camera setup that comprises a 50-megapixel main camera and 2-megapixel depth sensor, support for Hi-Res Audio, side-mounted fingerprint scanner, and virtual RAM expansion.
The iQOO U5 is priced at CNY 1299(~Php 10.3k) for the 4GB/128GB model, CNY 1399(~Php 11k) for the 6GB/128GB model, and CNY 1499(~Php 11.8k) for the 8GB/128GB model. It will be available in China on January 1.
