Is the HONOR 80 GT the Next Flagship Killer to Beat?

Every time a brand announces a GT variant, it is most likely a flagship killer. realme was one of the first brands to utilize the GT branding, and POCO is also doing the same as well. HONOR is the third brand to do so, and the 80 GT aims to offer better specs than the X40 GT.

Slotting in between the vanilla and Pro models, the HONOR 80 GT aims to offer pure performance at a competitive price, which is why it gets a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor with thermal management tools like a 4386 mm2 vapor chamber and a 74mm graphene sheet. It can be availed with up to 16GB RAM, though internal storage is capped at 256GB.

The 80 GT is smaller than the Pro model, which is evident with its flat 6.67-inch OLED panel that has a 120hz refresh rate and a punch-hole for a conventional 16-megapixel selfie shooter. Cameras are not a priority for the 80 GT, but HONOR did equip it with a 54-megapixel IMX800 main sensor in case you want to take good photos.

Like the Pro model, you get a 4800mAh battery with support for 66w charging, along with MagicOS 7.0. Unfortunately for the latter, it only comes with Android 12–and there’s no word when HONOR will roll out Android 13 on this compelling flagship killer.
