While flip foldable phones are becoming more affordable lately, they remain to be inaccessible to most consumers. Even when the Phantom V Flip was priced at just Php 15k, some can’t justify spending that much money for a foldable device. itel has you covered—well sort of—with the Flip 1.
While it has the looks that remind us of a boxy version of the Galaxy Z Flip3, itel’s affordable flip phone is actually a feature phone that can be used for web browsing with its built-in Opera Mini browser.
With a price tag of Rs 6,499(~Php 4.5k), what does the itel Flip 1 have to offer? Aside from three color options that include orange, light blue, and black, you get a 2.4-inch LCD display on the top part and a T9 keypad at the bottom part. It’s internal memory can store 2000 contacts and 100 messages, and supports Bluetooth calling with any wireless headset.
Keeping the lights on is a 1200mAh battery, which should last you for days (remember, this is a feature phone) with USB-C charging to keep it modern. There’s also support for two SIM cards, and a “smart camera”. We presume that it can take photos, but itel didn’t mention any other specifics like the image resolution and internal storage capacity.
While the phone is available in Pakistan, it remains to be seen if itel plans to bring this to the Philippines as well. After all, it can be a great weekend phone for those who want to disconnect from social media for a few days.
