Jays a-JAYS One+ In-Ear Headphones for Android Smartphones

Jays is a Sweden company that manufactures outstanding in-ear headphones. Their a-JAYS Four is truly remarkable in all fields: design, sound quality, features, and materials. However that was specifically made and designed for the Apple iPhone 4. For all you Android smartphone users out there we have great news for you all! Jays came out with the a-JAYS One+ in-ear headphones specifically for Android handsets and it’s now available in the Philippines for just Php3,099. We recently secured a unit for ourselves and we’d like to share the unboxing as well as our initial impressions in this post.

On to the unboxing!

You’ll either love or hate the packaging of Jays products. Just like their previous earphone models, the a-JAYS One+ comes in a cylindrical hard black box. There’s no transparent plastic anywhere that gives you a peek at the earphones. You’ll have to rely on the printed graphics and the product description at the back to get a feel for it.

As you can see below it’s clearly printed at the back that this was designed specifically for Android smartphones. It also says that you should download the free Jays Earphones App from the Android Market.

Unboxing this is pretty tricky at first. You have the remove the sticker at the back covering the button that will unlock the case and let you pull out the inner case inside. When you pull the inner compartment out you’ll find the manuals covering the earphones, extra tips, and the cable. Here’s a photo:

For Php3,099 the Jays a-JAYS One+ is a good deal. The sound signature leans towards the bassy end but it still delivers good mids. The tangle-free nature of the flat cable is also one of the best reasons why to get this. My only complaint so far is that it doesn’t come with a carrying case.
