After it was initially unveiled at IFA 2023 as a concept device, HONOR has made the V Purse official in China through a limited pre-sale–and revealed all of the key specs we should know about the foldable.
While it is an outward foldable like the Huawei Mate Xs, it is very thin at 8.6mm unfolded and 4.3mm folded and weighs 214 grams. For comparison, an iPhone 15 Pro Max is 8.3mm thick and weighs 221 grams despite having a titanium frame. Since it has only one display, you get a 7.71-inch OLED panel with a 2348×2016 resolution and a near-square 10.5:9 aspect ratio. When folded, the display turns into a 6.45-inch panel with a 2348×1088 resolution and a 19.4:9 aspect ratio. The panel has a 90hz refresh rate and features 2160hz PWM dimming and 1600nits peak brightness.
Powering the V Purse is a Snapdragon 778G processor that’s paired with 16GB RAM and up to 512GB internal storage. The dual rear camera setup consists of a 50-megapixel main shooter and a 12-megapixel ultra-wide, while selfies are taken care of by an 8-megapixel snapper housed in a punch-hole. The battery capacity of the V Purse is 4500mAh, which is bigger than what you get in a Galaxy Z Fold5. Charging speeds are at 35w–not the fastest, but good enough for its battery.
Aside from the gold-colored model that was showcased at IFA 2023, the V Purse will also come in a more subtle black version. Just like the concept version, the production version can also be carried like a purse by attaching a chain to its body. The same goes for the display’s customizable AOD, where you can fully showcase the V Purse as a digital fashion accessory.
While it will be available only in China–at least for now–the HONOR V Purse will have a limited sale, with the 256GB model priced at CNY 6000(~Php 47k) and the 512GB version priced at CNY 6600(~Php 52k).
