Leaks Give us a Closer Look at the LG G6

The LG G6 is primed and ready for its unveiling at this year’s Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. We’ve already seen a few of its renders leaked and a teaser that hints that it could feature some sort of IP certification. Yesterday, an image the Korean brand’s flagship device made its rounds in the tech beat, which showed its glossy black back and its logo (photo above), but now it looks like someone has allegedly gotten their hands on the G6 and is giving us a look at the device from different angles.

There are several things we can confirm with these photos. As we can all clearly see, the LG G6 will rock dual cameras for its rear shooter with its fingerpirnt scanner right below it. The phone will be using USB Type-C and will retain its 3.5mm jack. We also know that the Korean brand will be chucking the idea of modularity out the window, but what of its internals?

We already know that Samsung has been hoarding Snapdragon 835 chips, which has forced LG to go with last year’s choice for flagship SoCs, the Qualcomm Snapdragon 821. Here are more of its rumored specifications.

LG G6 Rumored Specs

  • 2.3GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 processor
  • 6GB of RAM
  • Adreno 530 GPU
  • 5.7-inch IPS LDC display; 2880×1440 resolution, Gorilla Glass 5 protection
  • 64GB/128GB of expandable storage

LG has confirmed that the LG G5 didn’t fly off the shelves as well as they had hoped, which really has us curious as what the company has done with this year’s iteration of their flagship device to make up for the previous disappointing outing. The team will be heading to Barcelona this year to cover Mobile World Congress and you can bet that the G6 will be one of the devices we’re going to make sure we get some time with. Stay tuned.
