Logitech MX Master 2S Review: Best. Mouse. Ever.

Logitech MX Master 2S Review: Best. Mouse. Ever.

Best. Mouse. Ever.

I’ve always been a trackpad user for the better part of my adult life. I never see that big need for using a mouse except when I was playing games. I also never saw a clear benefit because I’ve already tried a bunch of expensive mouse, including several that sold for over Php5,000 from RAZER, but never saw a clear benefit (except for them looking cool). That all changed when I started using the new Logitech MX Master 2S. This is, by far, the best mouse I’ve ever used and I highly recommend it to you guys.

Wireless and Worry Free

First the Logitech MX Master 2 eliminates the need for wires. There are two ways to connect it to your computer. You can opt to just plug the USB dongle to your USB slot and then turn on the mouse. It’s plug-and-play and no hassle. Next option is to connect directly, without the USB dongle, via Bluetooth. Just hit the connect button underneath the mouse to start pairing mode and you can pair it with up to three devices. You can easily switch to which device you want to use via the same button as well.

Sculpted to Perfection

Logitech boats that the MX Master 2S is “hand-sculpted shape”, which means that it was scientifically molded to give your hand maximum comfort without sacrificing functionality. They hit it out of the ballpark with this one. The extra ridge on the side gives a comfortable resting place for the palm (and even your thumb) which reduces fatigue, pressure, and stress on the hand. Sure it’s a little bigger than your usual mouse but the payoff with comfort is well worth it.

All about comfort and function

The locations of the added buttons and scroll wheels are also easy to access and use. Using the Logitech software, you can assign whatever functions you want across the different controls. I assigned a lot of the Mac OS shortcuts that I use on the buttons and scroll wheels that my thumb can easily reach. It’s a much better experience than a touchpad or pressing a button on the keyboard.

Insane Battery Life

70 days of battery life. Whut

Last, but definitely not the least, is the incredible battery life. Logitech says that a full charge can last a person 70 days of use. I’ve only had it for a little over a week so I can’t confirm that but so far I haven’t given it a charge after thoroughly abusing it daily. To charge you just connect it via micro USB to USB (personally I think they should have already moved to USB-C though).

And that’s it for the review. If you want a solid, comfortable, and durable workhorse mouse, consider the Logitech MX Master 2S. It’s a fantastic tool for graphics/video editing, creating presentations, gaming, and day-to-day computer navigating. It also allows you to maximize smart functions on your Mac like Launchpad and Mission Control.

The previous generation is the one being sold in PH retail stores

Unfortunately I haven’t found a store selling it locally. I got mine in the US for a little less than Php5,000. Local stores are selling the model prior to the 2S which is the Logitech MX Master for roughly Php4,200-Php4,500 (saw it in DataBlitz). Hopefully we get to see this new model in local stores soon.
