LOOK: OPPO Find X6 Pro Sample Photos

The OPPO Find X6 Pro was once the top dog in DxOMark’s camera ranking, and since then we’ve always wanted to get our hands on one to check out. Well, OPPO invited us over to Bali, Indonesia to take a closer look at their current flagship, and after a few days with it, we now know exactly why this phone was once the top dog in DxOMark’s rankings.

If you’ve forgotten, the OPPO Find X6 Pro uses Sony’s IMX989 sensor, the same one used in Sony’s RX100 handheld camera. Aside from the sheer size and quality of the sensor, the photos also get a bump from OPPO’s partnership with Hasselblad, as well as the onboard Marisilicon X chip.

Besides that, making its debut in the ultrawide lens is the 50-megapixel Sony IMX890. We know that we’re far beyond megapixel counts at this point, but this resolution trumps any other flagship ultrawide sensor by a mile or even more. We can’t help but imagine the improvements over the X5 Pro’s also 50-megapixel but older IMX766 version of an ultrawide shot. Even that was already impressive, to begin with. OPPO promises none of the typical fish-eye distortion you get with ultrawide lenses, and ultimate low-light performance (another weak point for these cameras).

The telephoto lens, on the other hand, is also a Sony IMX890 with 3x optical zoom. OPPO claims that its Find X6 Pro will be capable of “Pro-level video,” befitting its moniker. A new portrait mode with increased levels of Bokeh will also be introduced courtesy of Hasselblad’s renewed image algorithms.
