To use a lower-end version of the Helio G90T
While the Redmi 8 is relatively new (it is roughly two months old as of this writing), the brand is working on the Redmi 9 series according to a report by 91Mobiles. The report said that the Redmi 9 is expected to be powered by a yet-to-be-launched Helio G70 processor—speculated to be a lower-end version of the Helio G90T used in the Redmi Note 8 Pro.
Other speculated specs include a 6.6-inch Dot drop display and at least a 4GB/64GB configuration. As for its launch date, the Redmi 9 might be unveiled by first quarter of 2020, so we expect to officially see Redmi’s 2020 budget phone by March.
