Motorola Moto G7 Play Makes an Appearance at FCC

To sport a notch and a disappointingly small battery

While we know about the Motorola Moto G7, Motorola’s Moto G7 Play surfaced in the flesh thanks to an FCC listing. Like the Moto G7, the Moto G7 Play has a notched display, a familiar Motorola design at the back (circular camera module and Motorola logo embedded on the fingerprint scanner), a headphone jack, and USB-C. Being a lower-end model, the Moto G7 Play gets a single rear camera setup.

Unlike the Moto G6 Play, the Moto G7 Play has a significantly smaller battery at 2820mAh. That’s smaller than your average smartphone battery, which is roughly around 3000mAh. To make up for the small battery, the Moto G7 Play is equipped with a Snapdragon 632 processor—an upgrade from the Snapdragon 400-series processors used in the Moto G6 Play. The 14nm-based processor uses Kryo cores and an Adreno 506 GPU.

The leaks do not stop there, as the Moto G7 Play’s manual has surfaced as well, giving us a closer look at some of its features. The manual mentions a front camera flash, dual and single SIM variants, face unlock, and stock Android.
