MSI is Launching its Own Gaming Handheld at CES 2024

UPDATE: Alleged marketing materials revealed the MSI gaming handheld in its full glory ahead of CES 2024, and it will be called the Claw.

The ROG Ally and Legion Go might have a run for their money, as MSI teased on their social media pages that they will launch their own gaming handheld at CES 2024.

By enhancing the dark teaser image from the start of the teaser video, the upcoming MSI gaming handheld appears to have a similar form factor to the ROG Ally with fixed controllers and two analog joysticks with RGB lighting. The enhanced image also reveals a d-pad on the right side of the gaming handheld.

While the ROG Ally and Legion Go made use of AMD’s Ryzen Z1 processors, MSI is going for a different route by using an Intel processor as confirmed by Intel themselves. Videocardz speculates that the upcoming MSI gaming handheld will use Intel’s Core Ultra 100H processors. We don’t know what version MSI will use, but we expect it to compete well against the Ryzen Z1.

And since it will most likely use an Intel processor, we expect MSI’s gaming handheld to have Windows 11 out of the box just like its rivals.

The rest of the teaser images reveal the underside of the upcoming gaming handheld, which includes MSI’s dragon logo and “True Gaming” branding. the large vents at the bottom have red accents in the mesh grilles, which goes along with MSI’s design language for its gaming laptops.

Details remain vague for now, but expect MSI to hold a big launch for it at CES 2024.
