In the hi-res renders, the Galaxy S9 does look almost the same as the Galaxy S8, save for a repositioned fingerprint scanner. The new location, which is right below the camera, makes it easier to use compared to the old location in the Galaxy S8. Aside from that, other changes include a bigger battery (3200mAh on the S9 compared to 3000mAh on the S8), and a faster processor (the S9 will use an Exynos 9810 or Snapdragon 845 depending on where you live in). Even the rumored front panels look similar to its predecessor, save for smaller bezels.
If we base on what we know, it seems that the Galaxy S9 is an incremental upgrade to the Galaxy S8. Will it be a worthy flagship in 2018? That we have to see.
