This is the Nintendo Switch 2

After being in the rumor mill for months, Nintendo has finally previewed to everyone the Switch 2 with a 2-minute long trailer.

The intro of the trailer detailed on how the Switch 2 is bigger than the OG switch, and keeps both detachable controllers in black—with thew accent colors visible in the connectors and the joystick controllers. New to the Switch 2 is a built-in kickstand at the back, letting you prop up the device without needing a dock. Being bigger than its predecessor, the Switch 2 gets a bigger display that appears to be an 8-inch panel.

Speaking of docks, you do get an updated dock and an attachment for connecting both controllers in order to form a single wireless controller if you’re using the Switch 2 with a TV. The trailer also previewed Mario Kart 2025, with Nintendo confirming backwards compatibility with cartridges from the OG Switch. Other than that, Nintendo will share more details on April 2.

While Nintendo has yet to reveal the internals, previous rumors point to an Nvidia Tegra T239, which is expected to have an ARM A78C CPU that’s bundled with a custom GPU derived from Nvidia’s RTX 30-series Ampere architecture. The said CPU will likely have 1,536 CUDA cores, a 128-bit memory interface paired with LPDDR5 RAM, and a max memory bandwidth of 102GB/s.
