Nokia G21 Official with Unisoc T606, 90hz Display

After appearing in a leak last week, HMD Global is making the Nokia G21 official in Europe. Unlike the G20, the G21 goes for a more conservative design and gets a few upgrades.

Nokia G21 specs

  • Unisoc T606 processor
  • 4GB RAM
  • 64GB/128GB storage
  • 6.5-inch HD+ IPS display, 90hz refresh rate
  • 50-megapixel f/1.8 main camera with PDAF, 2-megapixel macro camera, 2-megapixel depth sensor
  • 8-megapixel f/2.0 selfie camera
  • 4G, 5G
  • WiFi, Bluetooth 5.0, NFC, side-mounted fingerprint scanner
  • 5050mAh battery
  • 18w wired charging
  • Android 11

Despite having the same 6.5-inch HD+ display with a dewdrop notch, the Nokia G21 now has a 90hz refresh rate. The same can be said about the battery: while it’s the same at 5050mAh, the G21 now has support for 18w wired charging–though you are only getting a 10w charger out of the box. The fingerprint scanner is now relocated to the side, and the triple rear camera setup is led by a 50-megapixel main camera and a pair of 2-megapixel cameras.

A key upgrade here is the use of a Unisoc T606 processor. Compared to the Helio G35 used on the G20, the T606 has two Cortex-A75 cores and six A55 cores, with the efficiency cores an improvement over the Cortex-A53 used on the Helio G35. While it does run stock Android, the G21 will come with Spotify and ExpressVPN preinstalled, along with Android 11 out of the box with two guaranteed updates.

The Nokia G21 is priced at 170 Euros(~Php 10k), which puts it in a top spot with the likes of the Redmi Note 11 and the Motorola Moto G31. European pricing is usually higher, so we expect the G21 to be priced at under Php 9k once it lands in the Philippines.
