Nothing does not do a mid-year refresh, but that changes with the announcement of the Phone (2a) Plus, which arrives roughly 4 months after the Phone (2a).

So what has changed with the Phone (2a) Plus? Despite looking the same as the non-Plus model, you are getting 3 key upgrades and updated color options.

The biggest upgrade is with the processor, where you get a Dimensity 7350. A successor to the Dimensity 7200 used on the Phone (2a) (no relation to the Dimensity 7300 in case you ask), the Dimensity 7350 has higher-clocked CPU cores, with the Cortex-A715 cores running at 3Ghz while ther Cortex-A510 cores run at 2Ghz. The GPU is the same as the one used on the Dimensity 7200, but now runs at 1.3Ghz. With these changes, Nothing claims a 10% better CPU performance and 30% better GPU performance with the Phone (2a) Plus.

The next change involves the selfie camera, where you get a 50-megapixel sensor and support for 4K30 video recording to make it more suitable for content creation. The display is the same as its predecessor, and the same applies to the dual-rear camera setup.

The third change is a minor one, where charging speeds for the 5000mAh battery is now 50w instead of 45w. You also get Android 14-based Nothing OS 2.6, which has ChatGPT integration.

The Phone (2a) Plus is priced at INR 27,999(~Php 20k) for the 8GB/256GB model and INR 29,999(~Php 21k) for the 12GB/256GB model. Nothing is expected to make the Phone (2a) Plus available in the Philippines in the 12GB/256GB model soon.

Looking at the pricing in India, it is not far off from the pricing of its predecessor–which is why we think Nothing got it right when it comes to unveiling mid-year refresh updates.
