The Nothing Phone 3 is Going to be Expensive

With Nothing teasing the Phone 3 recently, CEO Carl Pei revealed more details about their first flagship, specifically its price. In an episode of The Android Show, Pei revealed that they are going all in with the Phone 3–which means it’s going to be expensive.

Pei said that the Phone 3 will be priced at around 800 Pounds, which translates to around Php 60,000 when converted–and this makes it at par with current Android flagships. As to why it will be expensive, Pei said that the Phone 3 will have premium materials, major performance upgrades, and “software that really level things up”.

With Pei’s price reveal for the Phone 3, its a significant hike over last year’s Phone 2 that had a starting price of Php 39,990 for the 12GB/256GB variant. Being positioned as a flagship, we expect the Phone 3 to have at least a Snapdragon 8 Elite processor, a periscope camera, and the latest LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.0 storage.

The Phone 3(a) series have impressed us so far–with the 3(a) Pro having a periscope camera at an under Php 30k price tag and the Phone 3(a) giving you a telephoto camera for under Php 20k. That gives us high expectations for the Phone 3, and knowing Nothing they will deliver their promise even if it means a steep price hike.
