Flip phones are becoming popular lately that you can buy one for under Php 30,000 with decent specs to boot. We have yet seen one that’s priced under Php 25,000 (without any flash sale or promo), and we think Nubia might have a winner if they decide to bring the Flip 2 to the Philippines.
Launched in Japan, the Flip 2 improves upon Nubia’s original flip phone by having a bigger outer display–one that is 3 inches in size and has a layout that looks similar to the Find N3 Flip. You also get an IP42 rating–not the best IP rating, but at least it has basic protection against water and dust. The inner display is still the same 6.9-inch 120hz OLED panel with a 32-megapixel selfie camera, while its rear cameras consist of a 50-megapixel main camera and a 2-megapixel depth sensor.
The major upgrade here is the use of a Dimensity 7300X processor, which performs better than the Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 used by its predecessor and is meant for foldables. You get 6GB RAM and 128GB storage, and the battery is the same 4300mAh cell that supports 33w charging.
The Nubia Flip 2 is priced at 64,080 Yen, which translates to around Php 24k when converted. It will be nice if Nubia makes it available in the Philippines to liven up the competition for midrange flip phones.
