While we know that the OnePlus 13 is set to debut globally in January, there are also reports that the OnePlus 13R will join it. Those wondering about its key specs can look at the OnePlus Ace 5, which was recently unveiled in China. Just like how the OnePlus 12R was based on the OnePlus Ace 3, the same can be said for the OnePlus 13R. With that in mind, the OnePlus Ace 5 positions itself as a flagship killer with its use of a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor that’s paired with up to 1TB storage and up to 16GB RAM.
Like the OnePlus 13, the Ace 5 boasts a huge battery with its 6415mAh silicon-carbon battery that supports 80w wired charging. The main camera is an interesting 50-megapixel IMX906 sensor with OIS, while accompanying it are the same 8-megapixel ultrawide and 2-megapixel macro camera found on the OnePlus 12R. You go get a better IP65 rating, along with a 6-78-inch 120hz flat AMOLED panel that’s protected by Crystal Shield Glass. The Ace 5 gets Android 15-based ColorOS 15 out of the box, though expect the 13R to come with OxygenOS 15 when it goes official globally.
The Ace 5 starts at CNY 2299(~Php 19k) for the 12GB/256GB model, with the top-end 16GB/1TB model priced at CNY 3499(~Php 28k). It is already available in China, and we expect it to be available globally in the coming weeks as the OnePlus 13R.
