OnePlus Teases Nord N20 Official Render, Key Specs

OnePlus is set to expand its Nord line further with more affordable offerings. Recently, OnePlus has confirmed with PCMag that the Nord N20 is coming soon to the US. While there’s no word about availability outside the US, there might be a good reason for that.

In the photo shared by OnePlus to PCMag, the Nord N20 looks very familiar–that’s because it is practically identical to the Reno7 Z that arrived in the Philippines a few weeks ago.

Aside from having a 6.43-inch AMOLED display with a 60hz refresh rate and a 64-megapixel main rear camera, the Nord N20 shares practically the same design language as the Reno7 Z. However, it appears that OnePlus decided to ditch the Reno7 Z’s glowing rings on the camera bumps and instead settle for metallic accents. You also get a flat design with a squared-off frame.

The decision to go for a 60hz refresh may be a downgrade–the Nord N10 had a 90hz refresh rate, but OnePlus COO Kinder Liu justifies this by stating that an AMOLED display is better than IPS.

“Our 6.43-inch FHD+ AMOLED display offers low power consumption as well as better contrast, more vivid colors, and a wider color gamut than what is currently on sale in the North America affordable device market,” Liu said to PCMag.

Aside from adding premium features like an in-display fingerprint scanner, Liu hinted that the Nord N20 will have SuperVOOC charging, which will most likely be 65W. Rumored specs include a Snapdragon 695 processor, 6GB RAM, 128GB storage, and an 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera.

While it does have a few upgrades over the Reno7 Z, it’s unlikely that OnePlus will bring the Nord N20 to our shores as it will cannibalize the former’s sales.
