Expanding their presence?

While OPPO is known more for their F and A series in the Philippines, the Chinese brand hinted at bringing the R series to our shores. This was teased in a post by OPPO Philippines.

This is an interesting move for OPPO, since the R series has been exclusive to China, just like how vivo’s X series has been a China-exclusive model—until they decided to bring the X21 to our shores. OPPO nearly brought the R9S to our shores locally last year, but decided back then to focus on the F and A series.

Not that much was revealed in the said post, save for a link to the timeline of the R-Series. Judging from the phones that OPPO launched, they might bring in the R17 to the country. In case you missed it, the R17 is the first phone to use a Snapdragon 670 processor, along with Gorilla Glass 6.

If our speculation is right, OPPO aims to expand its presence locally by penetrating the premium mid-range line.
