Huawei Prepares nova Flip Mid-Range Foldable

Huawei Prepares nova Flip Mid-Range Foldable

It has been 5 months since Huawei unveiled the China-only Pocket 2, which is a rare flip foldable with four cameras. While the Pocket 2 is more of a high-end device–replacing the P50 Flip from 2022, Huawei is preparing a mid-range flip foldable with the nova Flip. Huawei recently revealed the nova Flip in a teaser video, confirming its design.

Unlike Huawei’s previous flip foldable phones, the nova Flip will go for a more conventional square cover display. The module houses two cameras and an LED flash, and parts of the video confirm that it will have an aluminum frame with flat frame sides and a gapless design when folded.

Aside from having a green colorway, not much is known yet about the nova Flip save for the teaser video. However, Digital Chat Station shared some of the nova Flip’s key specs, which include support for 66w charging, 50-megapixel main camera and a Kirin 5G processor. Digital Chat Station also mentioned that the outer display is 2.1 inches, while the inner display is 6.9 inches.

For its build, the nova Flip will reportedly be less premium than the P50 Flip and Pocket 2. However, it is said to have a competitive pricing of under CNY 5000 or around Php 41k when converted.

We expect Huawei to reveal more details about the nova Flip on August 6, which will be a major launch that will be joined by the MateBook GT laptop, MatePad Pro 12.2, and MatePad Air 2024.
