After skipping on offering a 5G variant with the M5 series, POCO is back to being competitive in the budget segment with the M6 Pro 5G. As the name implies, it is a 5G-ready device with the use of a Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 processor–which is a rare entry-level chip that uses a 4nm process.
POCO also leverages the M5 Pro 5G’s great price-to-specs ratio with up to 6GB RAM and up to 128GB internal storage, along with a dual rear camera setup that’s led by a 50-megapixel main camera and a 6.79-inch Full HD+ display that has a 90hz refresh rate and a punch-hole for an 8-megapixel selfie camera.
Other notable features of the POCO M6 Pro 5G include a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, glass back, a 5000mAh battery with 18w charging, and Android 13-based MIUI 14 with a commitment to 3 years of security updates and 2 major Android updates. If the spec sheet sounds familiar, that’s because it is based on the Redmi 12 5G, with the main difference being the decorative black trim along the camera module area.
The POCO M6 Pro 5G is priced at RS 10,999(~Php 7.5k) for the 4GB/64GB model and INR 12,999(~Php 9k) for the 6GB/128GB model. It will be available in India starting August 9, and there’s no word yet if POCO plans to make it available in the Philippines.
