It was simply a matter of time before Huawei reclaims the camera king throne once again, and the Pura 70 Ultra is that very device that propelled them to the top once again after last year’s P60 Pro. DxOMark recently reviewed the cameras of the Pura 70 Ultra, and gave it an overall score of 163. This makes it lead against the Magic6 Pro by five points, and is a sizeable jump compared to when the P60 Pro beat the Find X6 Pro last year.

Being the first phone to breach the 160 mark in DxOMark’s rankings, the Pura 70 Ultra dominates with its excellent photography performance across all three cameras. We’re not just talking about that 1-inch sensor that has a retractable lens design AND variable aperture: both the ultra-wide and telephoto cameras have Quad PD autofocus, making the Pura 70 Ultra very accurate in terms of autofocusing performance.

The P60 Pro is already a champ when it comes to exposure and having a broad dynamic range, and the Pura 70 Ultra improves on that further thanks to updated hardware to go along with Huawei’s XMAGE software. Even color accuracy and white balance is great on the Pura 70 Ultra, offering the same level of consistency even in low light conditions. Beyond photos, the Pura 70 Ultra is a great performer in videos as well, though it trails behind the iPhone 15 Pro Max and Find X7 Ultra in low-light situations.

The Pura 70 Ultra is priced at Php 79,999, and its rather steep price tag still makes the Magic6 Pro still a great choice for camera performance since it has a lower price tag at Php 59,999.
