Moving into 2025, one of the trends we expect to see on phones is batteries bigger than the usual 5000mAh. We have the likes of the realme GT 6 boasting a 5500mAh cell, while flagships like the Find X8 pushes things further with a 5630mAh cell. But have you imagined a flagship killer (not counting gaming phones) that has sa battery as big as a 7000mAh cell without looking like a brick? That’s what the realme Neo7 wants to offer.
The fact that you’re getting a humongous 7000mAh cell in a body that’s as thin as your typical flagship killer makes the Neo7 an intriguing offering. Topping up that huge battery is done swiftly with its support for 80w charging—not the fastest, but still good enough for everyday use. Being a flagship killer, the Neo7 has a potent Dimensity 9300+ processor that’s paired with up to 16GB RAM and 1TB storage.
Despite using a flat AMOLED panel, the Neo7’s display has some of the features of the GT 6 that include 6000nits of peak brightness, a 120hz variable refresh rate, an in-display fingerprint scanner, and a punch-hole for a 16-megapixel selfie shooter. You don’t get Gorilla Glass—instead, you get realme’s Crystal Armor protection, along with an IP69 rating.
The only real compromise we can see with the Neo7 is its camera setup, which has an underwhelming 8-megapixel ultra-wide camera and a fairly decent 50-megapixel IMX882 main camera with OIS. Knowing its target market, we think the Neo7 targets gaming enthusiasts more than those who prioritize cameras. Its other features include Android 15-based realme UI 6, WiFi 7, Bluetooth 5.4, and a 7700mm² vapor chamber heatsink.
The realme Neo7 starts at CNY 2199 (~Php 18k) for the 12GB/256GB model, and tops out at 16GB/1TB with a price of CNY 3299(~Php 27k). First sales in China start on December 16, and we’re intrigued if realme has any plans of making the Neo7 available globally.
