This is a bit of a surprise – realme has refreshed the C53 with a higher resolution, 108MP camera just a few weeks after announcing the budget phone.

If you don’t remember, realme unveiled their C53 just last June, sporting a Unisoc processor, 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage, and back then, a 50-megapixel main camera.

realme claims that the new improved version of the C53 has an improved 118.2% in resolution and clarity, thanks to its new 108MP camera. It can now also do 3x in-sensor zoom.

But realme giveth and taketh away as the manufacturer bumped the charging speed down to 18W, from the old model’s 33W fast charging speeds. The new model still retains the 5000mAh battery capacity.

The new version of the phone was unveiled in India, sporting a price of INR 9,999 or just around Php 6.6K converted for the 4GB/128GB version. No word yet whether this version of the phone will retail in the Philippines – we’d wager we won’t see it for sale here anytime soon.
