It has been a while since we last heard from Redfox. Their last post on their Facebook page was from 2022, and it made us wonder if they’re still making computers. We reached out to Redfox CEO Andy Te, and to our surprise, Redfox is still active. In recent years, they have been developing different products like a gaming handheld, AR Glasses, an external GPU, and a laptop that can rival ASUS’ earlier iterations of the ZenBook Duo. The one that intrigued us is the Redfox Optima Duo 2, a refined version of its ZenBook Duo-rivaling Optima Duo L7164.
This dual-screen laptop has two displays similar to the ZenBook Duo 2024. However, what makes it different is that the bottom display elevates by a few degrees more, which we presume is meant to improve airflow and thermal management.
Based on the brochure that was given to us, the Optima Duo 2 is utilizing a 12th-gen Intel Core i7 processor and boasts two 16-inch displays, making it one of the biggest dual-screen laptops we’ve heard of so far. With its size, Redfox is stuffing the Optima Duo 2 with a bunch of ports that include a USB-C port, 3 USB-A ports, a full-sized HDMI port, an Ethernet port, and an audio jack.
Redfox is looking to officially unveil the Optima Duo 2 soon, and this is a product we look forward to seeing in person. Redfox has been around since 1988 and become the first Filipino brand laptop in 2000–with its own factory in Cavite since 2010.
