While we’re still waiting for Xiaomi to make the 12T series available in the Philippines, they revealed that they will be bringing a new Redmi phone to the country. No, it’s not going to be the Redmi Note 12 series since they have yet to go official in China.
Despite the teaser video being short, it appears to be that Xiaomi will be bringing over the Redmi A1 to the Philippines with that split-second tease of its textured back panel in light blue. The Redmi A1 is Xiaomi’s most affordable offering for 2022, and we’re speculating it to be priced right below Php 6k.
Being an entry-level offering, the Redmi A1 is powered by a Helio A22 processor that’s paired with up to 3GB RAM and up to 32GB internal storage–the latter being expandable with MicroSD. With its modest specs, the Redmi A1 comes with a Go version of Android 12.
Other features of the Redmi A1 include a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner, 5000mAh battery, dual rear camera setup (8-megapixel main camera + QVGA depth sensor), and a 6.52-inch HD+ display with a notch for th 5-megapixel selfie shooter.
